Has anyone used Aerated Concrete Block? I'm wondering just how well it's going to cut and what issues a person might have with the process of cutting it. I wonder about the dust and how this may not be good for the equipment over time.

I'm considering doing a large wall relief.

I'm actually surprised I didn't find any references to AAC in a search here because I think this material would be an amazing way to use the shopbot to create sculpture and architectural bits. I hope there are some experienced people out there.

Hi Eric,

Here is one I did a while back, I am not sure our blocks in the UK as the same as yours. I used a TC tipped cutter, it did not seem to blunt the cutter, cutting a wall relief there would be some cutter wear... But it was extremly dusty, I think you will need a good dust collector as there could be a lot of wear on the V rails with the fine abrasive dust.

Thanks, Paul. Looks nice. Did the client paint that or seal it for outdoors?

Have you done any other stone work like limestone or soapstone?
