View Full Version : V-grooved sign
Here is a picture of a v grooved sign we did for a homeowners association a little while back. This one had a lot of text for a v grooved sign. It's 48" x 29" and the substrate is 1.5" HDU.

It turned out great. For the larger text I used an 120 degree bit. For all the small text I used a 90 degree bit.
Here's a closeup of the small text:

Good thing they didn't want a black outline around that gold eh?
Just kidding, very nice work Larry. What is your strategy for the great looking paint/gold work on this sign? What actual finish materials did you use?

Your work is excellent.
The sign itself is absurd.
Hell is being a member of a HOA that posts 22 detailed rules for using the swimming pool.
Thanks!
The gold color is 1Shot metallic gold. I v grooved the text through a paint mask to get the clean lines on the text. The hardest part was keeping the depth of the cut even, since the text is so thin any variation of the HDU's thickness could throw the cut off.
Yeah, it was a lot of rules! Some were pretty funny.
