Storing zero positions
I get a lot of power cuts where I am and have had several instances of this happening mid cut. I was surprised that my PRS Alpha didn't store the temp zero positions anywhere, so I'm looking for a custom solution.
I've had a look through the OpenSPB manual and it looks pretty straight forward, but before I start I just wanted to double check my approach.
I plan to create modified versions of the macros that store the temp zero positions and add write commands to a file just before the current position is changed to zero. I can then add shortcuts to these macros on my keypad.
I might in the future create a macro to restore the zeros, but that's less important.
Does this seem sensible?

Updating this with some more accurate terminology (apologies, I'm new to CNC)
By temp zero, I meant Working Zero.
To save:
1 - Home the machine (C3)
2 - Move to Work Zero
3 - Save X,Y and Z
4 - Set as Work Zero
When I restore:
1 - Home the machine (C3)
2 - Set as Work Zero (ZT)
3 - Load saved X, Y and Z
4 - Change Work zero to restored values (using VA)
I know that I could just write down the settings, but I would almost certainly forget sometimes and this is what software is good at

Further correction, Z1-3, not ZT

Here's a system that I used for saving work offsets when I still used SB3. It utilized the Buttons add on in the Tools menu (or could also be set up to use in the custom cuts menu). It's been quite some time since I've looked at it, but all the files are here, and I think there's some info on using it in the X Y zeroing fixture zip as well. Play around with it and see if you can get it to work for you. You can add more offsets to it if needed.

Thanks, I will have a look. Have you found a replacement for SB3? I've been massively disappointed with it so far.

Thanks for this. I will take a serious look at Centroid.
SB3 is unbelievably dated.
